10 Twitter Tools To Get Information About Your Twitter Stats

If you like this post, consider saving it to Delicious, and thumbing it up on StumbleUpon. You can also tweet this post, telling the world about it. Thanks :)

Twitter (follow me: @siyab) is a micro-blogging service, that allows its users to send text messages of 140 characters or less to other people. It’s just like a virtual chat-room, but with thousands of people.

Twitter users often want to check statistics about themselves (for example, the person they replied to the most, their tweeting pattern, and so on). But, the basic Twitter service does not provide advanced stats. So, other people, using the Twitter API, developed tools you can use to find out various statistics about your tweeting. This is a list of 10 Twitter tools you can use to get information about your stats. Have fun!

Note that these tools are primarily focused for checking (or getting information about) user stats. So you won’t see any other tools (I’ll do a post on them later :) )

1. Cursebird

cursebird

Cursebird is a real-time (live) feed of people swearing on Twitter. If anyone has used foul language, it all shows up here. Also, you can dig up a particular Twitter user’s statistics, on how civilised they really are on Twitter ;)

2. TweetStats

tweetstats

TweetStats is a comprehensive Twitter stats tool. It displays your stats in graphical form, making them more palatable ;) You can check your tweet density, the Twitter client you use most often, and so on.

3. Twitter Grader

twittergrader

Twitter Grader measures the authority and reach of a Twitter user. Just plug in your Twitter username, and get stats such as your overall rank, the number of followers you have, a tweet cloud (like a tag cloud, but for tweets), and suggested people to follow. This is a pretty good service; you can also see the top Twitter users according to location. (Here are my stats)

4. Twitter Counter

twittercounter

Twitter Counter tells you information about your Twitter followers. It tells you the number of followers you have at the moment, future predictions for this number, and so on. You can also get a badge (like the Feedburner feed chicklet seen on most blogs), which you can add to your blog, to boast the number of followers you have. You can get featured too, on the site.

5. Tweet Clouds

tweet-clouds

Tweet Clouds allows you to make a tweet cloud of your tweets. Just enter your Twitter username. It may take some time to compile the data, but it’s not long :)

6. TwitGraph

twitgraph1

TwitGraph provides, in graphical form, information about your tweets. The top five words you’ve used; the top five links you’ve tweeted, and so on. The design is not very appealing (the service is in beta), but still, this information can be useful :)

7. GeoTwitterous

geo

Want to know where your followers are located in the world? GeoTwitterous does that. Enter your Twitter username, and this service will bring up a map, with the location of your followers shaded in. Neat service!

8. TweetValue

tweetvalue1

TweetValue simply tells your Twitter profile’s value in US dollars. Simple as that :D

9. Retweetrank

retweet

As you may know already, a retweet is when you “tweet a tweet” (re-tweet). Retweeting is especially useful when you want to spread the word about something important. Also, when people retweet your tweets, it also provides a measure of your influence in the Twitter world. Retweetrank tells you your re-tweet rank, that is, how many times you have been re-tweeted by other Twitter users, and gives you a rank based on this information. I, for example, have a rank of 1001. What’s your retweet rank?

10.Twitterank

twitterank

Twitterank is like PageRank for Twitter users, as the service claims. Basically, it’s just a score of your profile, what’s it worth. You may or may not take it seriously, but it’s fun. I have a rank of 99.83 (don’t know if this is good or bad)

Ur Tools?

I must say that this list isn’t exhaustive by any means. There must be great Twitter tools that I may have missed. That’s where you come in. Have I missed a great Twitter tool for checking user stats? Do tell us all about it :)
