23 Websites to Find Good Content On The Web
I’ve been recently tweeting about lots of good content (content that I stumble upon, or re-tweet). Content that is good, useful, and credible is really hard to come by these days, given the humongous size of the Internet. But, there are several ways you can find good content on the web. Here is a very basic list of 23 websites that can help you.

Aggregators
Aggregators are services that find content from all around the web, and put it all in one place. This way, you can read everything in one place.
1. popurls
Popurls is an aggregator of popular URLs on various social media networks (Digg, Delicious, Reddit, etc) and news sites (New York Times, Google News, etc). If you need some fresh content, this is the first place you should go to.
2. Original Signal
Original Signal is like popurls, but it aggregates posts from mostly blogs (Mashable, GigaOM, ReadWriteWeb, etc). It also has several categories (Tech, World, Business, etc). So if you’re looking for a variety in content, Original Signal can help you a lot.
3. Alltop
Maintained by Guy Kawasaki, Alltop is an aggregator of popular topics. There are many categories you can choose from, or you can discover topics alphabetically. Very useful.
4. Technorati
Ah, the mother of all blogs. Technorati is a blog aggregator: it collects content from blogs all over the web, organizes it, and then distributes it.
5. Techmeme
Techmeme is an aggregator of blog posts concerned with technology. It is an absolutely must-bookmark site for any technology junkie/blogger. Techmeme finds hundreds of posts from technology blogs from all around the web, and aggregates them into a single, easy-to-scan page. So that you know about the latest and greatest in the tech world in just a glimpse.
6. Stuff To Tweet
People love to tweet about useful stuff on Twitter (follow me?). Stuff to Tweet helps making the job of finding good content to tweet about easier. Sort of like popurls, Stuff To Tweet is an aggregater of popular content from across the web.
Social Bookmarking Sites
Social bookmarking sites are places where users submit good and useful content from all around the web. These sites are treasure chests of content.
7. Digg
Digg is an extremely popular social news website. Content that gets on the Digg frontpage is highly credible, since it passes under the examining eyes of hundreds of Digg users. So, you can expect to find useful and high quality content on the Digg front page
8. Hacker News
Hacker News is a very simple list of news topics submitted by users. The beauty of this site is that you get the content immediately (no advertisements or funky designs). The only thing on the Hacker News page is a list of user submitted content. A great source of useful, credible content.
9. Buzzup
Another social news site. Buzzup is a niche-based social news site. It concentrates on the technology niche. Get your tech news here.
10. StumbleUpon
StumbleUpon is my favourite social bookmarking site. StumbleUpon is overflowing with fantastic user submitted content. Just visit the StumbleUpon toolbar and click Stumble!
11. Delicious
Delicious is another popular and useful social bookmarking service. Just visit the Delicious homepage and find useful content saved by many Delicious users.
12. Reddit
Reddit is another social bookmarking service. Reddit has a minimalistic design, which is good, since it place emphasis on the content. Reddit is a source for what’s new and popular on the web. Redditers find good content, and submit and vote it up.
News Sites
News websites are treasure troves of useful, authoritative content that is interesting. You can get an unlimited supply of content there.
13. TIME
TIME (the online version of the TIME magazine) is a magazine of all sorts of content. From news to sports to movies to celebrity news, TIME has it all. There’s loads of good, useful content in the TIME archives (check out the Best and Worst Lists)
14. Telegraph.co.uk
News sites are vast sources of credible content that’s interesting. Telegraph.co.uk is a UK news site.
15. Mail Online
Daily Mail is another news site based in the UK.
16. The New York Times
The New York Times newspaper has an online version too, and it is one of the most credible and popular news sources on the web.
17. CNN
CNN is one of the most popular online news sources on the web.
18. BBC
The BBC is a leading news source in the world. BBC doesn’t focus solely on news. It has other divisions too, like entertainment, and food, and science.
Blogs
Popular blogs around the web are also valuable sources of content and information. The top blogs (in their respective niches) provide useful and constantly updated content.
19. Dumb Little Man
Dumb Little Man is a useful blog. You can find useful tips to lead a better life, to save money, to increase productivity and so on. But more importantly, you can find some great content to read (and to tweet about).
20. Mashable
Mashable is the best when it comes to social media news. Mashable is your ultimate source for news about everything the social media is and tools and resources for leading a better and efficient “social-media-life”.
21. TechCrunch
The ultimate source for news on the latest technology and start ups.
22. Lifehacker
Lifehacker is the the best blog to go to if you want tips on how to lead a more productive life.

TED is like an all-in-one site. TED’s mission is to spread ideas. You can find tons of great content and ideas here.

Such a definitive list of sites! I gave popurls a visit and really liked it! I’m a heavy user of Digg, Reddit, StumbleUpon, and Del.icio.us, but the more places to find good content, the better!
